The Academy provides a full on-court and off-court curriculum for its players to improve all aspects of their performance - physical, technical, tactical, and mental.  As with other aspects of Academy training, our educational approach includes traditional, non-traditional, and very unique and fun teaching methods.  Although a variety of teaching styles are incorporated depending on the subject matter, players' learning styles, and coaches' strengths, we generally prefer a Socratic method of teaching which promotes critical thinking, self-evaluation, and holistic approaches to moving past barriers and attaining higher levels of performance.  We also encourage our players to become teachers and coaches themselves.  In this way, they are constantly challenged to expand their intellectual understanding of the game and themselves, and will undoubtedly seek to ask and answer questions most important to them for their own self-improvement.

When not on court, players participate in a number of physical and educational sessions specifically designed to address issues for high performance players, that are not included in typical tennis programs.  These sessions are customized for the particular players attending so that there is immediate, near term, and longer term value for each player as they apply these tools on the court.

Our in-house staff possess an extensive background in a variety of teaching and coaching disciplines related to improving physical performance, along with the mental and intellectual aspects required to improve competitive success.  In combination with our in-house staff, the Academy also welcomes a number of specialists and guest speakers throughout the Academy weeks who spend time teaching and working with our players on particular areas.  A sample of the specialty areas we cover includes; biofeedback, stabilization training, code of conduct, biomechanics, mental toughness, match management, rules of the game, equipment management, 3-D analysis, high level tournament environments, goal setting, nutrition, injury prevention, playing style development, body type enhancement for competition, game theory, tactics and strategy, overcoming plateaus, video analysis, and sensor-based feedback.
