The Academy's mission is to provide promising young athletes with elite level coaching so as to maximize their competitive potential.  Players with significant training and competitive experience will have a unique opportunity to take their game to new levels and will quickly learn what their maximum potential in the sport may be.  However, the Academy is equally interested in accepting younger children and children with little or no tennis experience, but who demonstrate strong athletic talent and a desire to work at maximizing their talent in the sport.  If your player has demonstrated strong tennis success, strong potential to succeed, or has athletic abilities and talent they wish to develop in the sport, we encourage you to apply!

The Academy's formation and training approach is a culmination of over thirty-five years' experience in competitive tennis playing and coaching ... from the earliest ages, up to professional levels of the sport.  It is specifically designed with the theory that athletes can only reach their full competitive potential if they are able to pursue their own individualized training program within a team environment.

This unique training style is best accomplished in an Academy atmosphere customized for each individual player while utilizing the energy, skills and talents of the Academy coaches and players.  This combination serves to support and inspire each athlete to maximize his/her abilities to the furthest limit.

Our Areas of Expertise

  -  Working with younger age groups to establish rock solid athletic and

technical foundations from which to build high performance skill sets to

achieve long term success at the highest competitive levels.

  -   Developing training strategies that accomplish multiple near term and

       longer term competitive goals.

  -   Eliminating weaknesses from a player's game.

  -   Building big competitive weapons.

  -   Providing a fresh perspective and unique training approaches for junior

players who have achieved significant competitive success, but in some

cases have plateaued and are finding it difficult to compete at higher

       tournament levels.

 -   Working with less experienced athletes who demonstrate strong athletic

      abilities and desire to compete.

 -  Working with accomplished athletes to introduce and/or enhance higher
level game theory and related tactical and strategic elements of their
      game.

-  Creating individual training plans to maximize unique and advanced
athletic talents, so as to accelerate competitive success.

Advantages & Player Suitability

The advantages of a boutique Academy are numerous.  The Academy Director and coaching staff get to know each player individually, can tailor a training plan that will most benefit each player, and can work directly with each player, making the necessary adjustments to maximize their training benefit.  Beyond small group training, Academy players have the opportunity to train one-on-one with the Academy Director and coaching staff to accelerate their progress still further.  In this way, each player may progress at the fastest rate possible ... using their own ability to absorb and apply all the training techniques presented.  At the same time, Academy parents have the opportunity to learn how best to support their child and guide him/her toward achieving both near term and long term competitive tennis goals.  To accomplish this, the Academy specifically limits the number of players training at any given time.

 Click For the Evaluator

Players who excel from this training approach typically possess many of the following personality traits and skills; self-disciplined and self-motivated, curious, creative with an active imagination, strong academic performers, love to learn and understand, are relentless at pursuing what they want, enjoy surprises and trying new things, are risk-takers, can deal with feeling uncomfortable or vulnerable, have high expectations for themselves, possess inner strength and belief in themselves, hate to fail but are able to learn from failure.  If your child displays a good number of these characteristics, he/she will most likely thoroughly enjoy the Academy and gain huge benefits.

However, this training style is not suited for all players.  The Academy is not designed for, and would not well serve, players who seek one or more of the following program elements; larger group practices pursuing standardized training routines, high priority on socializing with peers, large amounts of open match play, focus mainly on near term tournament match wins and current rankings, little or no focused off-court training with specific goals, little or no education curriculum with learning goals, focus on 'quick fix' tennis improvements, focus on others the player is training with, focus on club creature comforts, focus on preserving all elements of a player's current game, standard tennis instruction with no unconventional training.

If you're seeking something new, different, personalized, and designed to enable your player to achieve his/her long term maximum competitive potential in the most fun and energizing fashion ... and if your player is ready to be challenged, stimulated, and loves working hard to achieve results, this is the place for you!
